Luke McCowan’s dream of lifting a league title with Celtic took on even greater significance after a heartfelt social media post from his partner captured the full-circle journey of the couple.
The Celtic midfielder was part of the side that clinched the Scottish Premiership title in style at Tannadice on Saturday with a commanding 5-0 victory over Dundee United. But for McCowan and his partner Erin, the moment had an added layer of personal meaning.
The midfielder, who has been a terrific squad player for Celtic this season, started on the bench fo the Hoops in the league winner, but did come on in the second half.
In a series of Instagram stories, Erin reflected on the couple’s emotional connection to the club and the ground where Celtic sealed their latest triumph. “There are truly no words to describe this feeling!” she wrote. “The last time Celtic won [the league] at Tannadice we were both in the stands.”
Erin shared a photo of the two of them among the away support back in 2022, watching on as fans. Fast forward two years, and she reposted an image of Luke celebrating on the pitch as a Celtic player, holding the league trophy as a key part of the squad.
