Calum Scott has been appointed referee for Celtic’s trip to Hampden to face St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday afternoon, with Andrew Dallas on VAR duties at Clydesdale House.

The match will be shown live on Premier Sports 1, while international Celtic TV subscribers can also watch live coverage.

The match was largely straightforward, though Scott did issue a straight red card to Falkirk’s Michael McKenna for a reckless challenge on Anthony Ralston in the closing stages. His performance in that game was generally well received, with minimal controversy and firm control of proceedings throughout.
Scott was also the man in the middle for Celtic’s emphatic 5–0 Premiership win over Ross County at Parkhead in late November. With Celtic dominating from start to finish, the match required little intervention from the referee, who kept a low profile and allowed play to flow.

More recently, he was in charge of Celtic’s away match against Motherwell at Fir Park in February.
His performances in that and other matches have earned him his biggest assignment so far — taking charge of the Scottish Cup semi-final between Celtic and St Johnstone at Hampden. It’s a strong sign that the SFA trusts him with major games.
