Former Celtic striker Andy Walker has questioned how Brendan Rodgers will deal with the left-back situation next season, with Kieran Tierney set to return in the summer and Greg Taylor on the verge of an exit. The Hoops’ left-back options next season are far from certain.
One in and one out will mean Celtic will only have one first-team left-back for next season, with Jeffrey Schlupp also yet to sign a permanent deal. Walker has questions over how Brendan Rodgers will deal with the uncertainty.

With Schlupp failing to impress in recent weeks after a positive start to life at Celtic, the Ghanaian’s hefty English Premier League wages may prove a step too far for a player who will likely play backup to Tierney.
Walker said: (Go Radio Football Show), “When you look at next season, the number one left-back will be Kieran Tierney.
“Whilst we are on the theme of it. It would be great if they promoted someone from their academy. From the reserves. From a Lowland team. I don’t know who the left-back is there.
“But it used to be the case that you might get an opportunity, but maybe not now. You have to be the finished article and you aren’t allowed to develop, or maybe you aren’t given the opportunity to develop.”

It’s not a bad suggestion from Walker. Add to that Matthew Anderson’s time with Admira Wacker this season in the Austrian second division, where the 21-year-old has made 15 league appearances with a goal and two assists.
Wacker is top of the table, four points ahead of SV Ried, and Anderson has played a huge role in the team’s success so far this season.
Or even Mitchell Frame, who has made 26 appearances for Celtic B in the Lowland League. Frame also came off the bench for Celtic last season against Feyenoord at Celtic Park, playing the last 15 minutes as the Hoops secured their first Champions League group stage win at Celtic Park since 2013.
