Celtic Winger Given International Recognition for Recent Displays

Celtic winger Yang Hyun-Jun has received international recognition for his recent Hoops performances in the form of a South Korea call-up.

Hong Myung-bo’s side face Oman and Jordan later this month, with Yang looking to build on his three caps in the World Cup Qualifying Third Round.

The call-up comes after the 22-year-old impressed off the bench for Celtic in recent weeks against Aberdeen and St Mirren.

Yang, who can play on both the left and right wing, has impressed off the right, often replacing Nicolas Kühn late in games. With his ability to run at tired defences, he has shown brilliant promise.

Signed for an undisclosed fee from Gangwon in the summer of 2023, any initial doubts over Yang’s abilities have been washed away in recent weeks, especially after his brace against St Mirren at the SMISA Stadium nine days ago.

Now, Yang and Co. will jet off to meet up with their respective countries after Sunday’s Glasgow Derby, which gives the Hoops the chance to open up a 19-point Scottish Premiership lead over Rangers.
