Fans watching back will see Brendan Rodgers’ side at their clinical best, extending their Scottish Premiership lead to 16 points. Despite a spirited start from Aberdeen, Celtic’s quality and cutting edge proved too much for the visitors.

The Hoops broke the deadlock through Daizen Maeda, who reacted fastest to a deflected Arne Engels shot before outpacing Mats Knoester and volleying home. That set the tone for a relentless first half, with Jota doubling the lead after a stunning counter-attack, sparked by Nicolas Kuhn’s brilliant pass to set Celtic away.

Captain Callum McGregor made it 3-0 before half-time, leaving Aberdeen with a mountain to climb.

Rodgers made changes in the second half, with Luke McCowan and Hyunjun Yang coming off the bench to make an impact. The latter scored Celtic’s fourth goal, stabbing home from close range after an excellent assist from McCowan.

Jude Bonnar came on to make his Celtic debut, playing just over ten minutes.

Aberdeen managed a consolation goal late on, with Shayden Morris squeezing a shot past Kasper Schmeichel, but Maeda restored Celtic’s four-goal cushion in stoppage time, meeting Alistair Johnston’s pinpoint cross to cap off a superb night in Glasgow.

With just five more wins needed to officially wrap up the league, the Hoops are in complete control as they cruise towards 4-in-a-row.
