Celtic Player Spotted at Darts After Impressive Bayern Performance

One Celtic star was in attendance at last night’s PDC Premier League Darts Night Two at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

With the best the world of darts has to offer coming to Glasgow last night for the second night of the 16-night event before the playoffs in May, a Hoops star made the most of the opportunity to see it up close.

This comes after he was previously pictured alongside a number of teammates at the World Championships in December, just 24 hours after Celtic’s Premier Sports Cup win on penalties against Rangers at Hampden.

Unsurprisingly, the player was Arne Engels, who was pictured alone and is clearly a huge fan of darts. He previously went to watch the arrows in London alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, Greg Taylor, Liam Scales, Stephen Welsh, and Adam Idah just before Christmas.

Engels would see Luke Littler beat Luke Humphries 6-5 in the final on the night at the Hydro, with Littler taking home £10,000.

Despite defeat on Wednesday against Bayern Munich, Engels put in arguably one of his best performances in a Celtic shirt against Vincent Kompany’s side.

Engels was certainly unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty after a challenge from Dayot Upamecano, but he rarely put a foot wrong. His physicality in midfield meant he was able to keep Celtic as competitive as possible alongside Callum McGregor.

Engels has received some undeserved criticism in recent months, but to be at such a level at just 21, he looks set to go right to the top of the game.

His time at Celtic is likely to be the biggest test of his young career so far. He has already overcome dips in form and questions over his club record transfer in the summer.

Engels looks set to be a Celtic midfielder for years to come, and alongside Reo Hatate and Callum McGregor, he is learning from two of the best midfielders the Hoops have seen over the last 10 years.
