Celtic wingers Daizen Maeda and Jota continued their match-winning performances in the post-match interview, with the pair speaking to Celtic TV after the Hoops’ 6-0 win over Dundee at Celtic Park tonight.
Jota, who assisted Maeda for his first goal with a wonderful ball fed into the back post of the Dundee defence, saw the Celtic winger calmly slot past Trevor Carson. Maeda wasn’t done there, though, chipping Carson just a few minutes later, as he was caught off his line, securing his brace in a goal of the season contender, and leading to Maeda being awarded Man of the Match post-match.

Maeda, who is often known for his quiet and level-headed post-match interviews, was alongside Jota, who speaks so openly and freely. It made for an exciting interview with two contrasting personalities, both of whom contribute just as much when they play together.
Maeda said: (Celtic TV), “Yeah. I am happy to score the goals and win. I will do my best in the next game.
Jota was left in hysterics at the briefness of Maeda’s short and sharp answer before the Japanese winger was asked, ‘How happy are you to have this man back in the team and scoring goals for you?’
To which Maeda said, “I am happy,” with the Portuguese winger continuing his laughter after another brief response from the Japanese international.
Both players have such likable personalities in different ways. Maeda appears so level-headed, whereas Jota is more philosophical. Dressing rooms need different personalities, and that’s what makes Celtic such a great team currently with players like the pair.
Maeda was undoubtedly Man of the Match, but simply put, his brace wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Jota’s assist for his first goal.
Even on the right wing, a position he hasn’t played as much this season, Maeda thrived, while Jota was clearly more comfortable on the left. This meant Nicolas Kuhn was rested ahead of the game.
