Celtic – Give us Roberts for one more season

Reports over the weekend suggest Celtic have contacted Manchester City about the possibility of keeping Patrick Roberts at Celtic Park for a further season after his initial loan period ends in May.

The midfielder who has proved his worth to Celtic in the year he’s been here already is enjoying life at Celtic Park and Brendan Rodgers would love to keep the Englishman for one more season.

There has been dialogue between both clubs in an attempt to thrash out a deal but it’s felt that some coaching staff at the Etihad would like to see Robert getting game time in the EPL or Championship next term.

Celtic and City have a strong connection when it comes to players, brining Jason Denayer, John Guidetti in on loan previously before Roberts and signing Dedryk Boyata at the start of last season.

It’s seen as a bit of a long shot but the player himself is very open to staying in the Hoops for another year to develop. However, the midfielders ultimate goal still remains first team football with City and England call up.

Would you like to see Celtic keep Patrick Roberts for another season?
