Celtic have been linked with a host of players this month; however, one player the Hoops were surprisingly linked with was former right-back Jonjoe Kenny.
Kenny, who spent the second half of the 2020/21 season at Celtic on loan from Everton, making 16 appearances for the Hoops in a season to forget, was recently linked by the German paper Bild, with the English defender currently at Hertha Berlin.

The rumour never really made much sense, especially when it was reported by Record Sport back in December.
However, he is now said to be on the verge of a move away from the second-division Bundesliga side, with Football League World reporting that he is set to seal an £800k transfer to Sheffield United this month on a two-year deal.
It will come as somewhat of a relief to Celtic supporters, as a potential return for Kenny may have raised doubts over the future of Alistair Johnston.

However, that is clearly not the case, with the Canadian committed to the club until the summer of 2029.
Johnston has had his best season at the club so far, becoming a constant attacking threat—something Kenny himself was never able to achieve during the COVID season.
