In an unusual twist to what was expected to be a routine day at Celtic Park, a power outage in the surrounding Parkhead area left Celtic TV’s broadcast abruptly interrupted.
Fans watching from home were met with silence and a blank screen, while inside the stadium, the emergency generator ensured the game continued under floodlights.
The electrical power issue in the area is still ongoing. There is currently no power at Celtic Park other than what is connected to the emergency power supply (floodlights etc).

The incident which took place in the 46th minute of the second half highlights the unpredictability of football. Fans who paid for the broadcast were understandably frustrated, with many taking to social media to express their concerns.
With the on-field action unaffected, Brendan Rodgers’ side showed no signs of distraction as they bounced back in style. It’s yet another reminder that nothing, not even a power cut, can dim the bright lights of supporters at Celtic Park.
