‘Cowboy dinner!’ – Brendan Rodgers’ Hilarious Favourite Meal

Brendan Rodgers isn’t particularly known for talking about culinary delights.

Regardless, in the spirit of Christmas, Celtic allowed four kids, on behalf of Sky Sports, into Lennoxtown last week to conduct a short, five-minute interview with Callum McGregor and the Parkhead boss.

Their questions ranged from superpowers to famous contacts and gave fans a rare insight into some aspects of their heroes that mainstream press conferences don’t normally provide.

Indeed, one of the kids asked Rodgers what his choice would be if he could only have one meal for the rest of his life: “Sausage, beans, and chips”, the Celtic manager promptly replied (Sky Sports).

“An absolute cowboy dinner! There are many meals I like, [such as] chicken Milanese, but you cannot beat sausages, beans, and chips with a bit of bread and butter and a cup of tea.”

A rogue shout from the manager, his chosen meal won’t be too far from what many of his interviewees might’ve been going home to for dinner that evening.

Back home in Ireland, given he grew up with four younger brothers, too, sausages, beans, and chips might’ve been a regular fixture on his childhood menu.

One thing is certain, though: come Wednesday, ahead of the Hoops’ Boxing Day clash with Motherwell, Rodgers will be tucking into a slap-up Christmas dinner.

After that, his full focus will be on the Steelmen and getting the Bhoys back on track after a lacklustre goalless draw with Dundee United on Sunday.

The Hoops remain nine points clear at the top of the league but won’t want any hint of complacency to creep into their play.
