Officials Announced for Celtic’s Trip to Tannadice; Strange SFA Omission

After the highs of Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup final and a night at the darts on Monday, Celtic will soon set their sights on Dundee United.

The Hoops travel to Tannadice on Sunday, facing the Arabs for the first time this season.

Strangely, over the course of his two spells as Parkhead gaffer, Brendan Rodgers has never faced United.

There is a first time for everything, though, and the Irishman takes his side to the city of discovery this weekend in search of three vital Scottish Premiership points.

For the match, the SFA have strangely confirmed only part of the officiating team.

David Dickinson will referee the clash, assisted by Calum Spence and Craig Ferguson. Currently, on the SFA’s website, however, there is no mention of any VAR officials.

Usually, every Tuesday morning, Scottish football’s governing body updates its website with the officials for every match in the coming weekend. That was once more the case this morning, but as of yet, no VAR team has been confirmed for Sunday.

It remains to be seen why there has been such an omission. Rangers have VAR officials confirmed for their game, as do the likes of Hibs and Aberdeen.

We’ll likely get confirmation of who is on the screens behind the scenes at Tannadice in due course.
