Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has received recognition for his Man of the Match performance against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday by being named in UEFA’s Champions League Team of the Week.
Carter-Vickers, who was a standout in securing a clean sheet for the Hoops in Zagreb, joins the likes of Andy Robertson, Bukayo Saka, and Aston Villa’s Youri Tielemans in UEFA’s Team of the week.

With Celtic now having secured back-to-back clean sheets away from home in the Champions League, the Hoops’ defence is certainly as strong as it has been in recent memory, with much of this down to the excellence of CCV.
Having scored an own goal in the Hoops’ previous Champions League home game against Club Brugge at Celtic Park, it was some fightback for Carter-Vickers to not only be awarded Man of the Match but also to be rewarded with a place in the Champions League Team of the Week, highlighting just how impressed Europe is by what Celtic supporters see from CCV week in, week out.
He will likely go down as one of the best defenders Celtic have had in recent years.
Rarely putting a foot wrong, he reads the game expertly, and his ability to stop goals with last-ditch tackles is one that many defenders could only dream of.
CCV will look to continue on from Tuesday against the Rangers at Hampden on Sunday in the Premier Sports Cup final.
