Rodgers Reveals Why Second-Half Change Will Be Key To Beating Dinamo Zagreb On Tuesday

Brendan Rodgers has spoken about how he feels Celtic are going into today’s evening’s Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb in Zagreb.

Despite winning 3-0 against Hibernian this afternoon, the visitors created a number of chances, with Kasper Schmeichel busy in goal throughout the game.

With Rodgers revealing how second-half changes against Hibs will help Celtic against Zagreb on Tuesday.

He said: (The Herald), “There are always things to improve on our performance. If you watch us through the season, you see we haven’t been like that. It’s not been the case. The main principle for me always to begin with is pressing.

“That’s why we’ve only conceded the low number of goals that we have. But if you’re just that little bit late to the press, you’re not quite there or in the duel, and you lose out then teams can hurt you. So we’ve seen that more in the first half than the second.”

Rodgers will likely make changes going into Tuesday’s game, with Auston Trusty and Liam Scales starting this afternoon.

Cameron Carter-Vickers will most likely come in for Scales, and in midfield, Arne Engels and Luke McCowan themselves will likely drop out.

Up front, Kyogo Furuhashi could replace Adam Idah.

This is a sign that even in games Celtic win, if the pressing is below standard, changes will be made in upcoming games to address this.

With such a big squad, Rodgers can afford to do this, and against Zagreb, we will see Celtic’s best starting 11.
