On Wednesday night, Celtic Park was the centre of attention, not just for Celtic fans but also for football icon Peter Schmeichel, who was keenly watching his son, Kasper, make his Champions League debut for the club.
Kasper, taking his place in goal for the Hoops, was all smiles as the Celtic fans drowned out the iconic anthem with their deafening roar, creating an unforgettable moment as the cameras caught the veteran keeper beaming at the atmosphere.

While Kasper was loving every second of the noise inside Parkhead, his father, Peter, was on press duties for CBS Sports, covering Manchester City’s game.
But, as Peter revealed after the match, his attention wasn’t fully on the action at the Etihad. In fact, he admitted to being bored by the flat atmosphere and the style of play in Manchester, confessing that he spent much of the first half trying to find a feed to watch Celtic’s game instead.
Speaking to the studio after the game, Peter Schmeichel heaped praise on Celtic’s performance, particularly highlighting the attacking players and the Japanese contingent, who were instrumental in the team’s dominant 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava.
He expressed his admiration for the energy and creativity the players brought to the pitch, contrasting it with the more subdued nature of the football he had been watching earlier in the night.
To top it off, Peter made a brilliant statement to the studio, revealing that he’ll be attending Celtic’s next Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
And while the famous “Yellow Wall” might be known for its intensity, Peter made it clear he wouldn’t be joining them, quipping, “I’ll be part of the Green Wall,” showing his full support for the Hoops. Brilliant!
