Kieran Tierney Injury Status Ahead of Deadline Day

The hopes of some Celtic fans for a summer return of Kieran Tierney to Parkhead were tempered by his injury at the Euros.

Tierney suffered a serious hamstring injury during the Euros in a match against Switzerland, which led to him being stretchered off the field. This injury occurred after a season-long loan at Real Sociedad and has thwarted his opportunity to reintegrate into Arsenal’s lineup during the preseason.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has committed to supporting Tierney in regaining full fitness following a significant injury setback.

Although there has been speculation about his future Arteta’s recent comments suggest that Tierney’s immediate focus is on recovery rather than a transfer. Arteta stressed the need to support Tierney through his rehabilitation process at Arsenal, indicating that any potential move, including a return to Celtic, is unlikely at this time.

Arteta told the press, quoted by Football Scotland, that KT was still “a few weeks” away, before going on to say, “He needs to focus on recovering in the best possible way, it’s been a tough time for him again with the last injury. We have to try to support him and make sure he gets back fit.”

This development is particularly disheartening for Tierney, whose career at Arsenal had been promising but now faces uncertainties due to recurring injuries. He now faces another six months, at least, of limited game time in the capital.
