Celtic Fans Set For Another Minimal Away Capacity at Tynecastle

Celtic are set to have minimal away support at Tynecastle for yet another season.

Hearts reduced the Bhoys’ allocation in Gorgie to a maximum of just 650 a few years ago, and that is set to continue into the 2024/25 campaign.

According to Edinburgh Evening News, the Jambos will yet again give every visiting club – except their city rivals Hibernian – just 650 seats in one small section of the Roseburn stand.

A disappointing decision for Celtic fans, the reduced allocation highlights a bigger issue in Scottish football about how away supporters are often sidelined. Having very few in stadiums diminishes the atmosphere, and takes away from the overall spectacle.

In addition, when fans watching games from home on TV see vast rows of empty seats in home ends after their away allocation has been reduced, it only leads to frustration.

Hopefully, in future, Hearts can come down from their insistent stance and show some sympathy to travelling fans not just of Celtic, but all clubs in Scotland.
