Greg Taylor Lifts Lid On Hectic Schedule After Winning The Double With Celtic

One of four Celts due to represent Scotland at the upcoming European championships in Germany, Greg Taylor has had a busy summer so far.

The left-back was a constant in Brendan Rodgers’ side throughout the most recent season and much like his teammates, stepped up when it mattered towards the end.

He was a solid performer in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers a few weeks ago and since the iconic victory, the 26-year-old has been a busy man.

Taylor got married over in Ibiza before joining up with the national team for their pre-Euro friendlies, one of which he played a part in.

Indeed, the defender won his 14th cap in Scotland’s draw with Finland last Friday, making an impactful mark off the bench as he replaced Andy Robertson.

Now out in Germany with Steve Clarke’s side, Taylor has lifted the lid on his hectic summer schedule.

“I had my wedding planned for two years so we knew the date”, he said (uefa.com via Glasgow Times).

“Then when I knew the Euro squad was a possibility I had to have a conversation with the manager who was very understanding.

“So we won the Scottish Cup final on a Saturday, headed to Ibiza to get married and then came back the next day after to join up with the Scotland squad. So it’s been a pretty hectic but unbelievable summer so far.”

Taylor will be hoping things only get better for him and his teammates over the next few weeks.

Scotland has never got out of the group stage at a major tournament, but there is a first time for everything. With the current crop, making it to the last 16 is well within the realms of possibility.
