Celtic Show Champions League Rivals How to Deal with Euro Hangover

It may not have been pretty but Celtic got the three points on Saturday after their energy zapping exploits on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

Celtic were in control for most of the game and done just enough to break down a resolute Dundee defence, who wee organised and stubborn.

After expelling so much energy and on a come down from the midweek game many were waiting for the team to slip but thanks to our rejuvenated captain’s effort we headed back to Glasgow with the three points.

While Celtic managed to grind out their result, the same cannot be said for the rest of group C as all three teams were beaten in their domestic leagues.

Celtic’s next opponents Borrussia Mönchengladbach fell to a 4-0 away defeat to a tough Schalke side. Celta Vigo stunned Barcelona in a La Liga epic, beating the Catalans 4-3 in a seven goal thriller and Man City’s undefeated streak came to an end with a Victor Wanyama lead Spurs consigning them to defeat.

It’s of the utmost importance Celtic continue to buck the Euro trend and perform domestically after big Euro nights. The competition is tough and it takes it out of even the best as we’ve seen.

That’s why Saturday’s result should not be underestimated.
