Celtic Park has been ruled out as the host venue for another rugby cup final due to scheduled summer renovations.

The decision comes five years after the stadium successfully hosted the Pro 14 final in 2019, where a capacity crowd of 48,000 witnessed Glasgow Warriors’ defeat to Leinster.
The United Rugby Championship (URC) had approached Celtic to inquire about the possibility of hosting this year’s final, should the Glasgow Warriors secure home advantage in the June 22 showdown against either Benetton or Ulster. However, ongoing ground repairs at Parkhead have made hosting the event unfeasible this time around.
This situation has also affected other venues in Glasgow shifting the potential final venue to Edinburgh.
Murrayfield has three sold-out Taylor Swift concerts this weekend, raising concerns about the possible state of the pitch for the potential tie.
URC chief Martin Anayi confirmed that, should Glasgow Warriors reach the final, the match would be held at Murrayfield Stadium.
“We spoke to Celtic Park after having a final there a few years ago between Glasgow and Leinster,” Anayi explained to SunSport. “They’re doing some refurbishments inside the ground so that wasn’t available. So we’ll play it at Murrayfield.”
