Luis Palma Sends Message to Other Hondurans Dreaming of Celtic Move

Brought in as somewhat of a marquee signing last summer, Celtic winger Luis Palma’s first season in Glasgow came with several inconsistencies.

While a record of 20 goal contributions in 36 games is difficult to argue against, the frustrating nature of Palma’s play-style leaves much to be desired.

The 24-year-old seems to divide the Parkhead faithful, but his maiden 12 months with the champions are something to build upon.

With a full pre-season behind his back, it will be intriguing to see what Palma can conjure but now, he is not even on his summer break.

Indeed, the wide-man is on international duty with Honduras, his nation set to play Cuba and Bermuda over the next week.

Just the second player of his nationality to play for Celtic, Palma has sent a message to any of his fellow Hondurans who may dream of playing for the Hoops.

The double winner was asked if his time in green and white could open the floodgates for his international teammates to make the switch. “No, because if I was able to, other Hondurans could reach it”, he said (DIEZ).

“What I did in that season (2023/24), other Hondurans may be aware of it, there is no a closed window, there is no closed house, it is going to be important, not only in Celtic, but also in Europe so that the catrachos (Hondurans) can expand.”
