Celtic youngster Bosun Lawal was handed his first senior Ireland call-up yesterday.
The 21-year-old has been training with John O’Shea’s side over the past few days, and impressed as much that he was given an official conscription to the national team.
He will be in the squad for his country’s game at home to Hungary this evening alongside his Hoops teammates Mikey Johnston and Liam Scales. Adam Idah is also up for selection.

In the season gone by, Lawal stood out for Fleetwood, despite the side being relegated to English League Two.
He made 46 appearances for The Cods in all competitions and kicked on when he moved into midfield in the second half of the campaign.
Lawal will be handed an opportunity to impress Brendan Rodgers in the upcoming pre-season with several English Championship sides reportedly waiting in the wings to sign him on loan.
Seeing him make a beeline for the Scottish champions’ first team will be intriguing, but he has certainly been adjudged as good enough to play for his country.
Indeed, stand-in gaffer O’Shea has been hugely impressed with some of his attributes in Ireland training. “Bosun is a strong lad, but we have seen the delicate touches from him”, he said (The Scottish Sun).
“He can glide past players.
“He’s really exciting, but he has to keep developing and after Fleetwood he will go back and see what happens at Celtic.”
