Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton reacted to Celtic’s 2-1 win over Rangers on social media site X.
Sutton also pointed out that ultimately the result was the most important thing, with Celtic being the better team in the game but failing to add to their lead in the second half.
Massive result for Celtic and the King of Kings was at Celtic Park to see it🍀John Lundstram cost Rangers massively. Jack Butland has been absolutely brilliant this season and kept Rangers in with a chance👏👏A bit nervy towards the end but it’s essentially job done👏👏🍀

The Hoops are now on the verge of a third consecutive Scottish Premiership title in Brendan Rodgers’ first season back at the club, with the chance to mathematically end the title race on Wednesday against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Sutton also made sure to credit former striker partner Henrik Larsson, who was in attendance at the game, with Larsson set to attend the Celtic Player of the Year award at the OVO Hydro tomorrow and receive the Outstanding Contribution Award for his time in Glasgow.
Historically, the result this afternoon will be what is remembered despite a poor second-half showing with a lack of conviction in front of goal.
History always shows the victors, and no matter how you dice it, the Scottish Premiership table shows that after 36 games played, Celtic are the best team in the country, despite the hype surrounding Rangers for much of the season from quarters of the media.
