Former Premier League referee Jon Moss is poised to become the next Head of Referee Operations at the SFA, according to SunSport.

Moss, 53, is reportedly the frontrunner for the role, which will be vacated by Crawford Allan at the end of the current season.
Moss brings a wealth of experience from a distinguished 23-year refereeing career in England, which includes 11 seasons in the Premier League.
Since retiring from active refereeing two years ago, Moss has held the position of Select Group 1 Manager with England’s Professional Game Match Officials Board, where he was responsible for reviewing officials’ performances.
His departure from this role in March was followed by Howard Webb taking over his responsibilities for the remainder of the season. Moss’s potential appointment comes at a critical time for Scottish football, which has seen significant controversy surrounding the implementation of VAR.
Crawford Allan’s impending exit from the SFA is reportedly influenced by pressure from top clubs in the SPFL, who have been dissatisfied with his management of VAR. Among the vocal critics has been Celtic, expressing repeated concerns that mirror a broader discontent across the league.
