In a tense shootout, Celtic’s players held their nerve. Hart, who had a chance to win the game with Celtic’s fifth penalty, saw his shot hit the post. Nevertheless, he redeemed himself magnificently by saving Killian Phillips’ penalty, ensuring Celtic’s victory.

While victories in cup games can be chaotic, and Saturday’s match certainly was, the relief and joy at progressing overshadowed the defensive concerns that were apparent during the match.

Now, Celtic fans can look forward to the final against either Hearts or Rangers, with their eyes on completing a domestic double.

Reflecting on the season, Hart highlighted the team’s ambition to rectify earlier disappointments, including an early exit from the Scottish League Cup and a challenging Champions League campaign where they finished bottom of their group.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Hart expressed his determination to contribute significantly in the remaining fixtures.

“No doubt it’s on course for an exciting finale, but there’s nothing done yet. They’re exciting times ahead. All season, I’ve just wanted to be a part of everything and put myself forward.

“It was disappointing that we went out early in the League Cup, but other than that, we’ve stayed in there in the other competitions, barring the Champions League. We’re going to go right to the wire in the league and then we have a date at the end of the season in the final.

“We’re in a good spot, we have a strong squad and we just need to keep our focus. We have a good training week coming up, and we just need to look forward to Dundee.”
