Former Celtic hero and now pundit Peter Grant has admitted that he was shocked by Rangers’ antics after the full-time whistle in Sunday’s Glasgow derby.
Grant cannot comprehend why the home side were celebrating as if they had won the title after salvaging a late 3-3 draw.

He said: [SunSport] “I was stunned seeing Philippe Clement and his players celebrate like they had won the league. However, I’ve got no doubts deep down it was more relief for them than anything else.”
Celtic led 2-0 at half-time thanks to strikes from Daizen Maeda and Matt O’Riley. The Gers did hit back and get themselves level although Adam Idah ruffled a fair few feathers when he made it 3-2 to the visitors with minutes to go.
Rangers eventually got their late leveller, but Grant admitted his shock at seeing some of the home supporters criticising Fabio Silva when he went down in the box for the goal that got them going.
He said: “I actually saw some Rangers fans right behind the penalty incident having a go at Fabio Silva for diving. They were shouting at him to get up. It was unbelievable.”
After VAR got involved, the penalty was given. Celtic have since written to the SFA over the decision to do so.
The club think John Beaton wasn’t shown the correct clips of the incident and IFAB criteria were misused. Grant, however, is content with the Hoops’ predicament.
He said: “I believe Celtic are in a great position now, though. Win their final six games and they are champions. They should be capable of that. But they have to take care of the games either side of the final derby.”
