Celtic are going to need to bring in a top quality goal keeper this summer, with Joe Hart to hang up his gloves.

The Hoops are seemingly targeting Trabzonspor’s Ugurcan Cakir. The Turkish club’s captain and seasoned goalkeeper has caught Celtic’s eye as they prepare for Hart’s departure at the season’s end.
Ugurcan Cakir, who has been with Trabzonspor since his teenage years, has developed into a key player for the Turkish club, boasting a record of the most clean sheets in the Super Lig during the 2020/21 season.
At 28, he seems poised for a move, with Celtic in the race for his signature. Reports suggest that Celtic has initiated talks with Trabzonspor, expressing a readiness to negotiate a deal starting at around £7.5 million, although Trabzonspor’s asking price stands at approximately £12.5 million.
This potential transfer could become Celtic’s record signing, surpassing the £9 million they paid for Odsonne Edouard.
Splashing the £12.5 doesn’t seem like something the Hoops are keen on doing, but if they’re to get a top goalkeeper in, they’re going to have to spend that sort of money this summer. [Kontraspor]
As the summer window approaches and with the Euros on the horizon, where Cakir will represent Turkey, Celtic are eager to secure a deal.
