Reflecting on the team’s performances, Rodgers singled out the emphatic 6-0 victory over Aberdeen and the gripping 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League as significant highlights.

The Aberdeen match showcased Celtic’s offensive prowess, with the team delivering a dominant performance. The remarkable aspect of this game was the late surge in goals, with three scored after the 90th minute, including a double from Oh. Luis Palma was particularly instrumental, contributing with three assists and a goal. Other scorers in the match were Yang, Kyogo, and Turnbull, marking a well-rounded team effort.

The game against Atletico Madrid, however, was arguably Celtic’s best performance of the season. Competing against a formidable side, Celtic held their own, never trailing in the game. They initially took the lead with an early goal from Kyogo, followed by a later first-half strike from Palma. Despite the draw, many felt that Celtic had the quality and opportunities to win, highlighting the team’s growing confidence and capability on the European stage.

Rodgers commented on these matches, stating, “We’ve had some other really good performances – Atletico Madrid at home in the Champions League, Aberdeen at home when we were really clinical, but we hope in the second part of the season we can continue to grow and develop the mindset of the players and the team, and look to have a really exciting second part of the season.” [Celtic TV]
