Nicolas Kuhn to Celtic Saturday Morning Update

Nicolas Kuhn is on the cusp of a big move to Celtic, and his current club Rapid Vienna is playing it safe to make sure nothing falls through.

The German winger is set to be Brendan Rodgers’ newest addition during the January transfer window. Celtic and Rapid Vienna are still in talks over the price tag, with Celtic recently increasing their offer to £2.8 million, although Rapid Vienna is hoping for a bit more, around £3 million. Kuhn’s been taking it easy and didn’t join the full training session with Rapid Vienna on Friday. They’re prepping for a friendly match against Weiner SC, but Kuhn won’t be playing in that either. Rapid Vienna’s coach, Robert Klauss, shared with Kurier that Kuhn, alongside another player Kongolo, could have played if it were a league match.

He told Kurier: “If there was a league game, both Kongolo and Kühn could play. But we don’t want to risk anything.”

However, they’re not taking any chances with Kuhn as they don’t want to risk any injuries before his move to Celtic.

It sounds like Kuhn himself is pretty keen on joining Celtic and is making sure he stays in top shape for his new team.
