There are whispers abound that Celtic’s eyes have been wandering to Liverpool left-back, Owen Beck. However, it’s not just the Bhoys showing interest, though; their old friends from across Glasgow are also reportedly interested in the young talent too.
SunSport claims both teams have been making discreet enquiries about Beck’s situation, especially intriguing since Liverpool recently pulled him back from his stint at Dundee. This is a lad who, just the other week, was battling it out on the pitch against Celtic on Boxing day.

However, Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield crew seem to have their own plans, with intentions to keep Beck wrapped up in Liverpool colours for the rest of the season. The word on the street is that Klopp sees something special in him, a spark maybe, that he’s not ready to let go of just yet.

Meanwhile, Celtic’s on the hunt for a left-back to bolster the squad. But here’s the rub: Beck, as talented as he is, might not be the polished gem the Hoops faithful are daydreaming about. Sure, the lad could be a real talent that makes you sit up and take notice in the coming years. But is he ready to be the main man in that role for Celtic?
It would have been daft not to at least ask about Beck. After all, now and then, a player comes along who’s raw, a bit green around the edges, but with the right guidance, could be a player.
Celtic fans are less anxious about the transfer window than they were after the Hearts defeat in December. Since then, the bhoys have won all four of their league games, including a derby win against The Rangers.
However, it would be foolish not to strengthen properly in January.
