Celtic fans came away from Glasgow’s east disappointed on Saturday evening. The Bhoys lost at home yet again as goals from Lawrence Shankland and Stephen Kingsley secured a vital Hearts win.
The home support was understandably frustrated at times, and for the first time in living memory for some fans, ‘sack the board’ chants could be heard. Manager Brendan Rodgers was asked post-match by Sky Sports about the reaction towards the hierarchy of the club.
The Irishman admitted, though, today’s result was on him and his players. He said: “You do your talking on the pitch. Today was on myself and the players. Today was nowhere near the levels of a Celtic player and that is something that falls on me, so I need to find the answers for this group”
Rodgers has taken responsibility for today’s result. His team’s performance levels have dipped compared to earlier in the season.
Things need to improve if The Bhoys are to get their hands on any silverware this season. Rodgers will be aware of that, though, and he knows
