With Rangers having the opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table, the pressure is mounting on Celtic, particularly after their failure to secure a win in a home game.

Chris Sutton expressed his surprise over one of Rodgers’ decisions during the match against Motherwell. Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of Rangers’ trip to Aberdeen, Sutton questioned the logic behind substituting Kyogo, one of Celtic’s key players, especially when the team was in dire need of a goal.

“I’ve got to say I don’t know if there was an injury yesterday or whatever. I was surprised he [Kyogo] got on the hook at the draw.

“When you need a goal, you keep your best player on the pitch. I know Oh has come on and made a bit of an impression but it’s about seeing it through, isn’t it?”

At one point, Oh and Kyogo were both on the pitch, but the Japanese forward seemed to be playing slightly behind the main striker.

Turnbull then replaced the number 8 and went on to score a penalty which gave Celtic the lead, only to see Motherwell pull back level four minutes later.
