Celtic’s previous trip to Lazio, with Neil Lennon as manager, the Hoops secured a memorable 2-1 win four years ago that propelled the team into the Europa League knockout phase.

Despite the current challenges faced by Celtic in their Champions League group, with defeats against Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, and Lazio, Hart remains optimistic. He believes the team has never felt out of their depth in the competition and is looking forward to the chance for redemption against Lazio.

Hart emphasised to RecordSport that while the results have not always been favourable, the team has enjoyed and learned from each game in the competition.

“It’s tough but we’ve never felt out of our depth. And trust me, you CAN feel that in this competition.

“Ultimately, we’ve fallen on the wrong side of results and the numbers aren’t great. But in terms of our game-by-game experience I’ve enjoyed every single one.

“You’ve got to keep giving yourself opportunities and Tuesday is another huge one. It’s a special occasion and we won’t go in with any fear.

“We trust in each other, we trust the manager and at some point it’s going to happen for us. The Lazio game at home was so disappointing so we have a feeling of unfinished business.”

Hart has been under fire in recent weeks, with fans not entirely happy about his level of performance. It’s in games like the upcoming match against Lazio, when Hart must show his quality and experience, and pull off a few big saves.
