Ange Helped Aussie Legend Whilst At Celtic

Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou’s influence was and still is widespread. The now-Spurs boss has helped many people throughout his career, one of those being 79-time capped Australian international Mile Jedinak.

The midfielder played for several clubs throughout his career, most notably Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. While he was at Celtic, Postecoglou allowed Jedinak to take his first steps in coaching.

Jedinak came to Parkhead while Ange was still at the helm to observe how things worked. He said (Optus Sport): “It wasn’t until the back end of the first season at Celtic when I had the chance to go up. Again it was great. I got a reflection of what it’s like day to day. It’s not straightforward, but I saw enough in a couple of days to see he’d got it to where he wants it to be, and they were all in on it.”

Eventually, Jedinak was hired by Postecoglou and Co. in North London as a coach. Similarly to Harry Kewell, who is now a crucial member of the coaching team at Celtic, Postecoglou aided one of his fellow countrymen in taking their first steps post-playing career.

It was encouraging to see him do this at Celtic, and it is certain Jedinak won’t have been the only person to have made this type of visit to Lennoxtown throughout Postecoglou’s reign as manager.
