Celtic got over the line eventually against St. Mirren on Wednesday evening. David Turnbull opened the scoring early doors, but it was striker Oh Hyeon-gyu who came up trumps late on.
Replacing Turnbull for the final quarter of an hour, the South Korean internationalist rattled home from close range to secure his side the points. After the match, his gaffer Brendan Rodgers praised his work ethic.
The Irishman revealed that Oh puts in plenty of effort off the pitch to ensure he is in prime condition to take the chances he gets. He said (Sky Sports): “What I love about him is that he works so hard on his game, how he looks after his diet, his nutrition, how hard he trains, he does extras, he’s with the coaches studying his game, and he’s always ready”

From a Celtic perspective, it is encouraging to hear that the 22-year-old is grafting as hard as he is. Oh knows it is an arduous task to replace Kyogo in the team, but he is making use of the opportunities he gets having netted every 89 minutes in the league since joining the Scottish champions.
This is a record he will only aim to improve on going forward as Oh looks to continually impress his boss and show that he is a more than viable option up top.
