Celtic faced a strong Atletico Madrid side in the Champions League this evening. The hosts put in a great effort to eventually take a point from the match.
At half-time, though, the Celts were in the lead. Spirits were high in the stands at the break and they were lifted even higher when Georgios Samaras made a return to the hallowed Parkhead turf.

The Greek came on at half-time to do the Paradise Windfall draw, and he received a raucous applause:

In 241 appearances for the Celts, Samaras scored 71 goals and picked up 49 assists. He was adorned by the support and managed to win seven trophies in six and a half years at the club.
He will always be welcomed back to Celtic Park and his presence on Wednesday certainly proved to be a good luck charm, with his old team securing their maiden Champions League point of the campaign against a top-tier Atletico side.
