Celtic’s standout midfielder Matt O’Riley leaves no stone unturned as he looks to improve as a player.

And it’s not a mere coincidence that he consistently delivers exceptional performances right until the very end, exemplified when he netted the 97th-minute winner against Motherwell.
O’Riley’s noticeable uptick in performance this season isn’t just about on-field tactics; it’s rooted in an improved dietary regimen.
He’s already surpassed his goal tally from the prior season, despite playing over 50 games last term, and he attributes this enhancement, at least in part, to making crucial adjustments to his food intake.
His performances have been backed up with a Player of the Month award, and a first senior call-up to the Denmark side, although he didn’t make it off the bench against San Marino.
Speaking about his off-the-field changes, the Dane said: [The Herald]
“I just want to keep improving at Celtic.
“I want to do my best here and the rest will take care of itself. I am probably fitter than I was last year and stronger. That helps late in a game when you still have the ability to run off your opponent.
“Mentally, this is the best I have felt. I am more open and free on the pitch and that helps me play freely. It also helps me take risks without worrying about what will happen.
“I’ve tweaked a couple of things with my diet. Every so often I assess what I am doing and tweak some things. It’s nothing drastic but diet and sleep is something I am quite diligent about.
“I have just tweaked the amount of carbs and veg I am eating, and how much I am snacking. It started last season, and I just did it to see how I felt on a day-to-day basis.
“There are good people here and it makes sense to speak to them. If there is something that isn’t working, I’m not worried about changing it. I’m not superstitious.
“I’m constantly changing and looking for improvement. I enjoy that.”
After signing a new contract with the Hoops, it’s exciting to see Matt O’Riley reach these high levels so far this season, with his rise only going to continue.
