Former Celtic manager and current pundit Neil Lennon has expressed concerns over the central defensive pairing chosen by Brendan Rodgers for the noon kick-off derby match against Rangers at Ibrox.

Despite the recent signing of Nat Philips on a loan deal that lasts until at least January, the defender was not included in the squad for the highly-anticipated clash.
Instead, Rodgers has opted for a defensive partnership of Scales and Lagerbielke, with Taylor and Johnston flanking them. This selection has not instilled confidence among Celtic supporters, who are apprehensive about the team’s defensive capabilities going into a match of such magnitude.
Speaking live on Sky Sports, Neil Lennon didn’t mince words about the situation. “It’s not a good look at centre half. It’s very inexperienced,” he said.
This comes amid a busy week for Celtic, who finalized several transfers before the window closed, adding Paulo Bernardo and Luis Palma to the squad while seeing players like Sead Haksabanovic exit. Whether Rodgers’ current choices will vindicate him or lend credence to Lennon’s concerns remains to be seen as fans eagerly await the start of the match.
