The announcement comes amid much speculation surrounding the future of the highly-rated attacker.

Brendan Rodgers confirmed that several European clubs had shown interest in Abada.

SunSport reports that a bid of £7 million from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon was even turned down by the Hoops. Interestingly, the bid from Sporting Lisbon is said to have arrived just before Abada committed his future to Celtic by signing the new deal.

Abada’s future has been a hot topic of discussion over the last year, and at one point, it seemed likely he would be leaving the Scottish champions this summer. However, the appointment of Brendan Rodgers appears to have changed the dynamic. The experienced manager seems to have reignited Abada’s desire to stay at the club and contribute to its success.

The new deal not only secures Abada’s services for the foreseeable future but also underscores the player’s belief in the club’s ambition under Brendan Rodgers. As Celtic aims to defend their title and make an impact in European competitions, having a talent like Abada committed to the cause will undoubtedly be a significant asset.
