The rejection comes as a blow to Brendan Rodgers, who had identified Kvistgaarden as a potential asset to bolster his attacking options, particularly after a series of goalless performances from his squad.

However, the striker position is not currently deemed a high-priority area for improvement. This is partly due to the near-completion of a £3.5 million deal for Honduran winger Luis Palma from Greek side Aris. Palma’s versatility, including his ability to play as a forward, offers Rodgers some much-needed flexibility in the attacking department.

As the transfer deadline looms, it appears that Celtic’s focus may shift to other targets and positions of need. The club is reportedly eyeing up to five new signings to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season. Given the circumstances, it’s increasingly likely that Kvistgaarden will remain a Brondby player, at least for the time being, as Celtic recalibrates its transfer strategy.
