Reo Hatate Huddle Mystery Solved

THE Celtic huddle, a long-standing tradition dating back to the 90s, has been a hallmark of the team’s pre-match ritual.

Reo Hatate

In this tradition, the captain takes the lead, delivering a final speech before the match commences. This intimate moment is shared exclusively among the starting players, their words unheard by anyone else.

However, some fans have spotted that Celtic star Reo Hatate doesn’t fully participate in the huddle, opting to stand up instead.

Since his arrival at the club eighteen months ago, Reo Hatate has never fully participated in the huddle, leading fans to draw their own conclusions.

Some speculated that he preferred to maintain a certain distance from his teammates, pointing out his less prominent role during celebrations.

However, the midfielder had already told readers of the Celtic View back in November! The Japanese star told the in-house magazine exactly why he chooses to stand.

“I prefer to see the speaker’s face. If my head is down I can’t see his face.” Reo told the Celtic View,

“So I keep my body straight and I try to make eye contact with him.”

It’s a fair enough explanation, especially when he won’t be able to fully understand Callum McGregor with his heavy Scottish accent. It was just more interesting to find out the reason, I don’t think Celtic fans were bothered Reo stands in the huddle, but at least we have an answer!
