Recent reports suggest that Ismaila Soro’s chances of securing a permanent move to Arouca have dwindled. Despite making 30 appearances for the Portuguese side while on loan from Celtic last season, the midfielder’s performances failed to impress enough to secure a long-term contract.
Arouca wasted no time in seeking an alternative, and they have now completed the signing of Eboue Kouassi, a former Celtic flop who will take over the defensive midfield role that Soro had been eyeing. With this development, Soro again becomes Celtic’s problem.
It seems highly improbable that Soro will find himself in Brendan Rodgers’ plans for the upcoming season. Celtic, therefore, will likely be looking to sever ties with the player permanently during the summer transfer window.

Celtic have to cut the bloated part of their squad and refine their options ahead of the new season.
During his time at Celtic so fat, Soro has made sporadic appearances for the first team. Often used as a rotational player, featuring in domestic cup matches and occasional Scottish Premiership fixtures. Soro showed glimpses of his potential with his energetic and combative playing style, but could be quite erratic. There was a running joke on social media that he was always good for a yellow card during a game.
