Des Buckingham Won’t Replace Ange Postecoglou – Report

CELTIC social media has been buzzing with speculation over the potential appointment of Des Buckingham as the new Celtic manager, replacing Ange Postecoglou.

However, it has been reported that this is not the case.

Buckingham was a relatively unknown figure in Scotland until Wednesday afternoon after he was snapped at Glasgow airport.

Before his stint in India, Buckingham served as assistant to ex-Hearts player Patrick Kisnorbo at Melbourne City, where they clinched the A-League title.

Despite his impressive resume, SunSport reports that Buckingham is not being considered for the Celtic managerial role, nor the assistant manager’s position.

His recent visit to Glasgow was purely social, catching up with friends in the city, not participating in talks with Celtic over the vacant manager position.

He has been doing well in India, and already in the City group, it wouldn’t be surprising to see his name resurface at some point in the near future, but the Celtic job is just too big a step up.
