Kyogo’s Outstanding Celtic Comments Ahead of Title Win

Celtic have endured a wealth of success since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival at the club and it is fair to say the goals of a certain Kyogo Furuhashi have aided the Hoops in this time.

In 77 Celtic appearances so far, the Japanese has netted 49 times including back to back braces in successive Scottish league cup finals.

He has been nothing short of a revelation in Glasgow and he says he is in a privileged position to get to pull on the green and white hoops every week (Glasgow Times):

“While I’ve been here at the club, a lot of players have left and a lot of players have come in. I’m honoured to be able to stay at the club and play here.”

Going by these comments, Kyogo is only interested in the here and now which us rather encouraging.

He also thinks the season should be taken on a game by game basis heading into Sunday’s clash with Hearts at Tynecastle:

“As I said, I want to enjoy this day. I think it’s important not to stick with the idea of winning the titles. We think this is another game in the league. We will prepare and try to win the game.”

And at the weekend, Kyogo will be hoping to break the 50 goal barrier at Celtic:

“As I always say, everyone is supporting me to get goals, I just work hard to provide something back for them because they support me all the time.

“Being at this club is an honour already, by scoring the goals I can give something back to the supporters and the club. We always get the win because we are united and work hard for it.”

Kyogo is no stranger to scoring against Hearts and on Sunday, the 28 year old will be aiming to score one of if not some the goals that help Celtic confirm the title.

It would make it even sweeter for the striker as well because it would be his 50th in green and white. Let’s see what the weekend brings.
