We were aware of a bid from Stoke for Celtic target Alfie Doughty but as of yet there’s no movement on that move.
SunSport report the English side have tabled a £650k bid for the midfielder to take Alfie this month.
There doesn’t seem to be a bid forthcoming from Celtic towards Charlton but they don’t need to involve his current club in any deal.
Alfie is in the final 6 months of his contract and will be speaking to any interested parties off his own back.
Stoke have tried to steal the lead on the player but it will all be down to what Alfie and his agent have planned.
He’s under contract until May, if Celtic tie up a deal for the Charlton star, they would be in a position to wait for the player this summer.
It remains to be seen who is pulling the strings at the club, we can’t guarantee Celtic will have the same manager in the summer and that could enter Doughty’s thinking.
