CELTIC have been linked with a move for Reading defender Liam Moore as the club sound out alternatives for Shane Duffy, should they fail to land the Irishman in this window.
Neil Lennon confirmed on Friday the club were trying to sign Duffy but gave no hint as to how things were going in that regard.
It would be foolish of Celtic to put their eggs in one basket and hope for the best. The scouting team, headed up by Nicky Hammond have been doing their homework and making sure that whatever happens, they get in a very capable centre back before the October deadline.
RecordSport claim the club are looking at Lam Moore as one of those possibilities.
Liam, 27, currently plays centre back for Reading and has a deal which runs to 2023.
The defender played 44 times for his club last season, so you would have to imagine there wouldn’t be a scenario where they would allow him to go out on loan. If Celtic are serious, they would have to make a bid for Liam. The defender was bought for just over £1m by Reading from Leicester but his worth to the team could see Celtic shell out more than that. Transfermarkt have the player valued at £4.9m
