£3m Lifeline for SPFL Clubs

It has been reported that the SPFL Trust have received a donation from business man James Anderson to help with costs during the coronavirus.

The £3m donation will be accessible to all 42 clubs under the SPFL umbrella and could prove vital for the lower league.

Clubs can access up to £50k of funding as long as they can provide evidence of community benefit.

This morning eh could be used by top flight clubs to pay for the equipment needed to test their players and staff for the virus.

It’s 100% pivotal every club has equipment in place ahead of the new season. If the proper precautions and safety measures aren’t taken — football will not be able to restart in August.

This donation by James Anderson will prove a timely boost. Ann Budge brought this to the forefront and with reconstruction on the table, if Hearts were to be spared relegation, it could be seen as a sweetener. Hopefully, there was no strings attached to the donation.
