Daizen Maeda has been crowned Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for March, making it back-to-back awards for the Celtic forward, who continues to light up the league with his performances and goal-scoring.

This is now two consecutive monthly awards for the 27-year-old, having also claimed the accolade in February. His latest honour comes on the back of a blistering run of form that has seen him score in five successive Premiership matches.

🔝 Top scorer in the Premiership.#CelticFC🍀— Celtic Football Club (@CelticFC) April 4, 2025
In March alone, Maeda found the net four times in three league games, including a decisive brace in the 3-0 win over Hearts last weekend.
That double against Hearts was particularly significant, pushing his season total to an outstanding 30 goals across all competitions and making him the top scorer in the league.
Maeda’s consistency and sheer work rate, coupled with a clinical edge in front of goal, have made him an undroppable figure in Brendan Rodgers’ side and a standout across the Scottish game.
His recent exploits have firmly placed him as the frontrunner for the end-of-season Player of the Year honours.
Few, if any, can match his output or influence in key moments. With Celtic entering the business end of the campaign, Maeda’s contributions could be vital in securing both the league title and a potential Scottish Cup win.
A clean sweep of individual awards now looks more like a formality than a possibility.
