CELTIC are in the hat for the next Round of the Premier Sports Cup after overcoming Ross County 4-1 in Dingwall.
The champions were magnificent, despite fielding a second-string team for the match. The manager clearly had one eye on the team’s upcoming fixtures and was unwilling to risk a player unnecessarily.
Ross County didn’t really pose a threat to the Hoops as they eased through the tie.
Here are three things we learned as Celtic beat Ross County after making nine changes to their starting lineup, handing full debuts Siegrist, Bernabei and Mooy and a debut to Haskabanovic.
Never Doubt An Ange Signing Again
Many doubted the singing of Aaron Mooy when he was signed earlier in the transfer window. After impressing from the bench, he performed to a high standard throughout the ninety minutes on Wednesday night.
Celtic has Great Squad Depth
Celtic made nine changes heading into Wednesday night’s match, yet, looking at the team, it was still a strong eleven that started the match. It was a side that was packed with quality, despite it being Celtic’s second-string side.
Exciting Season Ahead
After the four debuts at Dingwall, it’s safe to say fans are excited to see how the players fair this season. Siegrist looked comfortable between the sticks, while Bernabei was impressive, bombing up and down the left side of the pitch, showing off his blistering pace. Mooy was a Rolls Royce in the middle of the pitch, reading the game tremendously well. When Haskabanovic came onto the pitch, he looked sharp and is a player many Celtic fans are itching to see again soon.
